Our Mission

To celebrate and encourage filmmaking on Nantucket by organizing and executing an annual Nantucket Shorts Festival.

Our Story

Proving that size really doesn't matter, The Nantucket Shorts Festival celebrates short form movies of 2 to 10 minutes in length starring or inspired by Nantucket.

Our festival was founded in 2013 by five local Nantucket artists interested in creating a community of support and a forum for filmmakers both amateur and professional to present their work. The unique format of the event allows both experienced and amateur filmmakers to be selected to present their art on the big screen at the Dreamland Theater in an entertaining evening unlike any other. A jury screens each submitted film and selects the top films to appear at the festival.
